Workshops
Elevate Fitness & Wellbeing Studio
in Horsham, West Sussex
In a typical yoga class, there’s only so much time to break down the finer details of a pose. A workshop allows us to slow down, ask questions, explore techniques in depth and receive individual guidance in a supportive small-group environment. Over two hours, we’ll build strength, confidence and understanding step by step, helping you achieve poses and movements that may have previously felt out of reach. No pressure, no competition, just the opportunity to learn, explore and discover what’s possible.

Spaces are very limited so booking is essential.

Arm Balancing
Discover the techniques behind all those fancy looking arm balances!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as improvers who want to refine their technique and build confidence.

Many people believe arm balances require exceptional strength, flexibility or years of yoga experience. In reality, they are largely about understanding leverage, weight distribution, body positioning and learning how to engage the right muscles at the right time.

During the workshop we’ll explore:
-
Foundations of arm balancing
-
Wrist preparation and injury prevention
-
Core engagement and body positioning
-
Crow Pose (Kakasana/Bakasana)
-
Side Crow (Parsva Bakasana)
-
Flying splits/(Eka Pada Koundinyasana 1)
-
Hurdlers pose / (EPK II)
-

-
Eight Angle Pose (Astavakrasana)
-
Safe progressions and individual modifications

You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how arm balances work, drills you can continue practising at home, and hopefully a few poses you never thought possible.
No previous experience is required, just an open mind and a sense of adventure!

Inversions
Learn how to safely and confidently turn your world upside down!

During the workshop we’ll explore:
-
Understanding the mechanics of inversions
-

-
Why properly executed headstands should not place excessive pressure on the neck
-
Bound Headstand (Baddha Hasta Sirsasana)
-
Tripod Headstand (Mukta Hasta Sirsasana)
-
Preparation for Forearm stand (Pincha Mayurasana) and Handstand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana)
-
Different entries and exits
-
Balance drills and confidence-building techniques

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

Whether you’re attempting your first headstand or refining an existing practice, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how to invert safely and effectively.
